New culinary adventures await visitors to the 5-star luxury resort of Fairmont Mayakoba located in the rainforests of Mexico’s Riviera Maya. World-renowned chef and restauranteur Richard Sandoval has been tagged by the resort to overhaul the property’s four restaurants – the Lobby Lounge, El Puerto, Brisas and La Laguna. The project is slated for completion this month.
The four restaurants will provide guests with a bevy of dining options sure to please any palate. The Lobby Lounge greets guests as they arrive at the resort, offering delicious drinks, appetizing dishes and nightly entertainment on the covered waterfront terrace.
El Puerto boasts an extended deck overlooking the freshwater lagoon, as well as a spacious indoor dining area and two private dining rooms for special parties and events. A fine selection of Latin wines, Japanese saki and a full tequila bar join the menu of sushi, ceviche and dishes inspired by regional favorites.
Brisas features a new raw bar, a diverse menu offering surf and turf delicacies, and a beachfront stage. For a more homegrown approach to dining, guests can eat at the new La Laguna, featuring a tequileria, open-concept kitchen and handcrafted cocktails inspired by the flavors of Mexico.
The resort is hoping the revisions to the restaurants will capture the tastebuds of foodies as well as nature lovers and those seeking a vacation from the world. In addition to a fine gastronomical experience, guests can hike along nearby nature trails, walk along the scenic beach near one of the world’s largest reefs, or find rest and rejuvenation at the resort’s 20,000-square-foot spa.
