Fresh off of the first phase of a seven month-long, $55 million renovation, the W Fort Lauderdale Hotel and Residences are ready to shine as of December 2016. The overhaul covered all 430 guest rooms and the majority of the 171 residences, as well as the lobby and one of the rooftop and ocean-facing pool decks. The second and final phase is slated to be complete during 2017 and will include a second Stephen Starr restaurant, sushi bar and a 4,000-square-foot ballroom, enhancing the existing meeting space to a grand total of 40,000 square feet.
Outfitted by award-winning New York design firm Meyer Davis Studio, the design evokes the energetic Fort Lauderdale Beach vibe while artfully incorporating the bold and glamorous aesthetic often found at W properties. The overriding theme is nautical culture, glittering beaches and, of course, the rolling waves of the Atlantic Ocean, which greet guests and residents every time they arrive to the property. Think bright, clean and contemporary accompanied by a soothing palette of ocean blues and sunny touches – a nod to the Fort Lauderdale weather.
Individual units at The Residences, which operates in conjunction with The Related Companies, start at around $655,000. Depending on which unit a buyer chooses, they’ll get some kind of water view, be it Atlantic Ocean or Intercoastal Waterway. Features include 9-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, spacious balconies, fully-furnished digs, stainless steel appliances, up to 56-inch LCD television, signature W Hotels bed NudeAudio Studio 5 Plush seating, and fully-integrated kitchens with Italian-designed cabinetry. Owners have access to all hotel amenities with resident signing privileges.
