The 2016 Monaco Yacht Show will be a stunning display of superyachts, with the world’s elite mingling. The event is characterized by elaborate cocktail parties taking place every night on the superyachts, luxury designers peddling wares, and of course the breathtaking backdrop that Monaco naturally has to offer. If you will be attending the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show, here’s what you can expect.
The Biggest and Best Show Yet
The 2016 Monaco Yacht Show promises to be the biggest and best show yet. More superyachts, more designers, more builders, and probably more vendors and people will be present than at any other show so far. 40 new superyachts will be on display at the show and over 300 yachts will be present. At least five of the yachts that will be present are even considered megayachts, as they are over 200 feet long. Superyachts are yachts that are 20 meters, or about 65 feet, in length or more.
Same Time and Place as Previous Shows
The event will take place over four days, from September 28th through October 1st. As in previous years, the event will be held in Port Hercules, Monaco, a renowned destination on the French Riviera. The Monaco Yacht Show has been a smashing success since the first event was held in 1991, with more partners, participants, and buyers attending every year. Yachts can be purchased or chartered at the show. Tickets to attend the show are €150 per person or €480 for a four-day pass for professional visitors.
Monaco is the perfect place to hold an event that showcases the world’s largest display of superyachts, as Monaco is the country where the largest number of millionaires and billionaires in the world live, making up about 30 percent of the population. The country is bordered on one side by the Mediterranean Sea and on the other three sides by France, with mountains dotting the landscape. The weather is always nice, with temperatures rarely dipping below 50 or rising above 75.
The country is considered urban, with fantastic architecture including the prince’s palace, many resorts, casinos, and mansions to view and tour. Port Hercules is the largest deep water bay on the French Riviera, covering almost 40 acres. The dark blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea are wonderful for the event, but are also great for sun bathing and relaxing while vacationing in Monaco.
